K-Delight- Tha Realness

One of the most impressive mixtapes you'll hear in a while, i've been banging this one for about a year now. I picked this 1 up at TapeDiggers but assumed that the link was dead so i created my own. So go over there  check out their tapes and leave a shout out! They like to know how everybody's feelin'

Ultrafunk- Ultrafunk (1975)

I know very little about this LP, other than it was produced in the U.K. and it was released in 1975. An extremely funky album with great breaks that you might not have heard or acquired yet. I appreciate the people who still pop by every so often and i will end my break of not posting and start up again!

Jimmy 'Bo' Horne- Dance Across The Floor (1978)

This is Funk as I know it! One of my favorite records, it was produced by KC and Richard Finch. Released by T.K. Productions (My favorite label) and distributed by Sunny Sound Enterprises, this record is packed with fat samples and slamming drums.

James Knight & The Butlers- Black Knight (1971)

Good ol' Miami Soul. When listening to this you may think you're listening to the likes of Baby Huey mixed with a little Chuck Berry. Probably one of the most expensive LP's you would buy if you racked up the $500 to get an original copy, so get it while its hot!!

Cameo- Cameosis (1980)

Now that you got a taste of Larry's Production, you can catch his group in their essence in this 1980 release. Definitely my favorite release from them besides Secret Omen and Word Up!

L.A. Connection- Now Appearing (1982)

A groovy Funk/Disco album from the early 80's that could definitely pass as a album from the 70's. With production exclusively from Larry Blackmon (Leader of the renowned Cameo), It's destined to give you a good time in the studio/dance floor. Dig It!!

Rosaline Joyce- Lovers Soul (1987)

A 1980's street soul classic, one of my favorites from that time. Rosaline was signed to the UK Jam Today but her career was cut short with legal issues with the label. There is very little information about her on the web, but unfortunately i recall reading that she passed away recently. Dig It!!--Forgot to add that this record was produced by Master T.

Ultimate Breaks & Beats- Vol. 11 (1987)

Definitely my favorite release from this series, I could DJ this record alone for hours. It has the more 'Essential' breaks on this one, and my favorite tune of all time LOVE'S THEME. You Know exactly what that DJ is thinking when you hear that jam on the radio. Feel the love and boogie to this.

Man Parrish- Hip Hop, Be Bop (Don't Stop) (1982)

This 45 right here.... Just makes you wanna get the hell up and dance! The funk was definitely pouring through the walls with this one.... I even felt like doing the electric boogie, hell my neighbors probably did too. One of my favorite works in Hip-Hop, it definitely puts a smile on your face and makes you think about the time when people weren't tired of electronic sounds. Oh how time has changed.

Charlie Parker- Bird Is Free (1961)

I have decided that my first vinyl upload ever would be my favorite jazz album of all time, Bird Is Free. Recorded in 1952, this is the epitome of what jazz truly is. Every cut on this album slams and as the record progresses from side A to B you can hear the crowd and musicians getting increasingly 'Jazzy'... Legend says that Charlies take on 'Lester Leaps In' on this album is the longest and fastest saxophone solo in the history of dopeness. As the record comes to an end Charlie presents us with 'Laura', the theme for a 1945  mystery film that matches the description of the tune.. So Happy Listening!!!

Anthony King- Lost Star (1978)

A personal favorite, this album has accompanied me through many nights of cheeba and music production. My all-time favorite cut on this album has to be Filigree Funk, a 4 minute Disco-ish slab of deliciousness.
Cut yourself a piece ey?

Kenny Burrell- 'Round Midnight (1972)

Allmusic rated this album 2 and a half stars.. Pretty sad when Non-Musician assholes criticize the greats of this world. This album is everything you might expect from Kenny, but even more. You just may be surprised....

Kool DJ Red Alert- 98.7 KISS FM (1987)

I used to listen to this Mix religiously when i was coming up on Hip-Hop. At the time it was all about Red Alert, Scott La Rock, & KRS and thats where i got most of my influence and inspiration from. Back in the day if you lived in Kansas or some shit you would hope that your cousin in the Bronx would tape these shows and make copies to send you, which was the case most of the time. The tape opens up with Boogie Down Productions and D-Nice, and towards the end of it you hear the likes of the BZ2 MC's. You may not know many of these artists, or not enjoy them for that matter, but man... DON'T SLEEP ON THIS!

Rest In Peace, George Duke.

After crashing from a 36 hour run, i woke up to some extremely unfortunate news. The world has lost yet another GREAT musician, I can't bear to read the details yet... George to me in Hip-Hop, Is definitely up there with the greats (James Brown, Coltrane, & Heron). I hope his journey towards the other life will not bind him from creating, but enhance it, and i wish for him to have eternal peace in the unknown planes. This album is a personal favorite, always a pleasure to listen to, and a euphoric high when chopping up in the sampler.

Roger Troutman- The Many Facets Of Roger (1981)

Yes this isn't a jazz album, Yes it's pretty damn funky, Yes you might have it in your digital crates, But have you really listened to the powers of Rogers Maxx Axe? I don't know, So i'm giving you the option too! One of my personal favorite listening pleasures, this one is dedicated to Matlo and ROGER who both are unfortunately not spreading the funk anymore.

Billy Hart- Enhance (1977)

Another mind boggling Free Jazz Album, this time released around 1977. It also features Eddie Henderson on the Trumpet, a sign that this must be in your digital crates!

Charles Brackeen- Rhythm X (1973)

All I can say is damn... Recorded In 1968 (which is very evident) and released in 1973 on Strata-East.

John Klemmer- Touch (1975)

Me and my buddy were talking about funky white dudes in the jazz game and i totally forget about this guy. so this one's dedicated to John... Klemmer.
